Program Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Wyoming County BRE&D Program
- Bring businesses and available resources together
Wyoming County and Southern West Virginia have many different organizations available that are willing to work with local businesses in a variety of ways to overcome issues that they face in order to stay in Wyoming County or expand. The BRE&D program will work to educate local businesses about these opportunities and coordinate these resources with potential business clients. - Create a one stop shop for businesses to have their questions answered
Operating a new or existing business constantly brings new challenges that must be dealt with in order to effectively compete. The BRE&D program will operate as a place where a business can go in order to have business questions answered. If the program cannot directly provide the answer, it will be able to refer the business to an expert with the answer. - Develop a public directory of local businesses to help them connect with customers
The BRE&D program will work to develop and maintain this directory for public use as well as to continue future business research. - Create and maintain a database of resources available to existing businesses and creative entrepreneurs
This database will be available on the BRE&D web site and will provide information on new and existing resources that can help local businesses. - Maintain a repository of information to help businesses
Similar to the resource database, the repository will contain information on successful practices and techniques for local businesses. - Conduct periodic surveys to keep track of the changing needs of businesses
The business climate is constantly evolving, therefore the issues and needs will also change. Continuous research of the business climate will provide the program with the best information to guide its direction. - Facilitate business networking
The BRE&D program will coordinate networking events among local businesses in order to share ideas and build community. - Coordinate shared resources to cut costs
Many businesses in Wyoming County have difficulty in partnering with the vendors that they need. The BRE&D program will work to coordinate multiple businesses together to make them collectively more attractive to vendors who would otherwise not work with them individually.
